About ORH

Back in 1736 a young man who headed the army of the people named Nader Shah Afshar became victorious in conquering all of Iran and was able to unite all of Persia under one banner. Soon after he took over  what is today’s Turkey, Iraq,  Afghanistan, Pakistan southern Russian estates of  Uzbekistan, Baku, Turkmenistan and a good part of northern India going to Delhi and onto china.

As results of that taking a lot of valuable spoils back to Persia. Among these were unusual rare Antiques, Rugs, Ivories and Jewelry. The famous 240 Karat Kouhe’ Nour (mountain of light) Diamond now kept at a museum in London .As well as 250 Karat Dari-yaye Nour (Ocean of light) now in Iran Part of Iran’s famous crown Jewels.

At this point he was looking for a group of people trustworthy and knowledgeable in maintaining his vast collection of priceless Arts and Antiques. He looked all over the Empire to find such trustable and art worthy people. Finally, he was introduced to a group who lived in the city of Kazvin hundreds of miles to the south of Mashad where he had claimed to be the Capital of the Empire. After meeting with representatives of this group  he was amazed as how artistically inclined they were, he offered to move them to Mashad with all their families and that they should be in charge of all his artistic maintenance and restoration . And it is by this note where our ancestral root as restoration started.

We are proud to be the owner of a Tapestry manufactured by the Royal Aubusson factory in 1739 France and given as gift by Louis the 15th King of France to King Nader Shah Afshar who at the time of his departure from the throne gave to our ancestor Hadj Simcha Behmony Liviem as token of appreciation for his loyal services. He then went on to open the first Rug Cleaning and restoration house. His family continued providing such services through out the years. This priceless tapestry has been handed down to us, and remains in our facility on display for your viewing.
